Technology has killed many careers, I am beginning to think with computers, editing software and affects being so cheap now, composers might be on their way out. As more and more songs nowadays are assembled by DJ's who have become very good at arranging beats to making them look and sound fresh. DJ's do often come up with new music, using other old elements that already exist.
This is the kind of music, Arabs are now into House beats are everywhere and they seem to be accessible or cheap to get. Maybe it's that life is moving in a faster pace now. Whatever it's, one guy in Lebanon with the name Walid Al Massih has moved from DJ'ing into composing music, while most of his stuff goes to his songstress wife Maya Nehme, he does give his work to some up and coming singers. He also arranges music and makes upbeat tracks for other household names.
See his latest musical arrangements for the new single for Maya Nehme, a seasoned and an ward winning dancer and now pop singer. Such music is no different than what Americans call here Euro Trash, but this very trash is very well known around the globe. It does bring so much energy for the party loving young folks around the globe.
Aside from that, you will like the many looks and dance moves Maya brings out for her latest hit. She comes to the business with a professional career in dance choreography where she has a school and a degree in music. So no surprise that her song has all the making of a modern day global pop hit--if it was not for the fact that she sings in Arabic, and not English.
Update: I was not talking down DJ's, I am just suggesting that more and more DJ's and music arrangers are filling in for traditional composers--dude with a oud or guitar. This might be a fact as we now get a lot more songs that we used to get 20 years ago.

he has 2 musical diplomas and considered one of the rebellions in the music industry and against all the cheap selling production companies in the middle east. and it's known that he is in a great relation with Hady sharara the other big brain in the industry.
This song sounds very cheap just like the video and the dance moves.

ReplyDeleteI like Walid, I really do, he makes good music and makes entertaining music video, but I am not sure about music arranger title. He is a gifted producer especially when he makes songs for Maya.
ReplyDeleteI agree hanitizer he does make good music I just don't care for this song it sounds cheap. I'm not being jealous I just feel he missed the mark with this song.
ReplyDeleteactually the song and the theme is a deja vu,,so nothing new,,i guess u all remember sabine with her tube "b3atli email w hkini" same theme ,dancers moves etc etc ,,,,nowadays the true meaning of artist is gone,,its all computerized and everyone can buy symphonies and beats ,,technology will do the rest ,,u just have to learn how to use the computer and the specific programs...as for the so called DJ massif,,well like most lebanese that have some 100 or 150 people applauding they suddenly think they are artists and public figure,,,,,welcome to lebanon

i want to make some stuff clear. 1st music arranger yes it is the title before being a producer. but in most of my songs im the arranger and producer.
2nd. for a song that reached 350,000 views in 3 weeks without having it on tv yet:) i guess it is a massive hit.
and with all due respect where is this song from b3atle email. Maya is a dance teacher and owner of Maya school of Arts with 400 students. u r comparing Maya to amateur dancers:) second Maya has a piano diploma and another degree in Musicology so i guess already big difference.
3rd and last. my music is computerized in this track but make a research of my tracks you would know my real musical direction.
